Lower league Thierry Henry was my prediction.

I was wrong.

If the 3 signings on Monday do materialise, with the fact Flynn saying that’s not the end of the signings I’ll be a bit more optimistic.

However, we’ve had the signing imminent message before

33/1 on Skybet. I’ve already included STFC in my pre season acca @ 28/1. Might have to have a dabble at 33/1 as well.

FGR forum saying "Dokes" had his medical at Swindon after the game on Saturday and that Lavinier is the makeweight in the deal.

I dont want to lose Lavinier as I think he has loads of potential, saying that if we get a 50% sell on fee then it will be all good. Could be why we are looking at Genesini too as RWB backup for Hutton.

If Hutton stays it does make sense to me as his nothing but a right sided player in my opinion, a good one though. Just think he is a bit of a luxury when on the bench and also a bit poor if on the left

I wouldn’t say he was poor on the left but he’s clearly a right sided player playing on the opposite side to fill a need.

He couldn’t be first choice for the left side but he’s capable doing a job there - which is still more than some. Including (currently) our only LWB.

I wouldnt want Hutton on the left again, his natural cross is outswinging which Charlie loves, an inswinging cross from the left with a right foot is much harder for Charlie to attack.

I would like the Genesini lad to come in as backup but I personally still feel we need a proper left footed LWB if we are going to persist with wingback, I am not a fan of playing Hutton/Lavinier/Hunt there as we have done in recent years.

That said, I would be happy if FBT went back to LWB if we got decent CB options signed.
