I thought the football under Lyndsey was almost as bad as under Williams TBF and for me the only worse manager in our history was Sheridan, all 3 even worse than Beamish.

The number of games under Lyndsey we dominted possession yet created nothing at all, we took no risks, no shots we just kept possession with sideways passing, it was utterly awful to watch and so boring, yet I can accept boring if it got us results, which it didn't.

Tht was evident early on in Lyndseys career vs Gills, we had nearly 80% of the possession after we were against 10 men from the 10th minute yet we created zero good chances tried walking the ball into the box rather than shooting, took no risks at all looking for that goal.

That pattern carried on in almost every game under Lyndsey bar Mansfield away.

Spot on.

The Club shot itself in the foot taking weeks to appoint him and then pitol whipped itself in the face with every decision after.....

SL came out as arrogant (to me) in his pre and post match interviews, i know i would be trying to get the fans on my side and 'give me a chance' rather than ''I know all about it, ive done it all' attitude.
It was his first major role FFS....

Domination touch Football...it was shite and a tough watch..

I know you picked the Gills but for me the away game at Stevenage was the sum up, i think we had 70% of the ball , eleven shots, zero on target and lost 2 zip.

Agreed. Especially with the arrogance, it was a "I know best" kind of stance. It was painful because the football was awful.

The club havent done that since the 80s when it was common practice at STFC but back then we only had about 800 to 1,000 season ticket holders each season.

can't be arsed to start a match day thread this early. But OSC posted this about Colchester travel:

Some travel news for you ahead of the opening League Two game of the season at Colchester on the 5th of August.

The ongoing roadworks on the A12 between Marks Tey and Stanway, have seen weekend closures from the Friday night 9pm until Monday morning at 5am. This has resulted in eight mile tailbacks at its worst and a travel time of up to two hours to negotiate it ! Unfortunately the next planned closure is for Friday August 4th to Monday 7th.

The A12 is reduced prior to J25 Marks Tey to one lane and then traffic is routed around the Marks Tey roundabout back onto the A12. The problem is compounded by the fact that the A120 from Braintree, also has a junction at the Marks Tey roundabout and creates delays on that route.

Official updates can be found at National Highways : East and click on the link for A12/J25 to J26 weekend closures.

Was going to drive, but have seen it’s a right nightmare with road closures and roadworks in the area.

A12 is closed between Marks Tey and Stanway for the weekend resulting in 8 mile tailbacks and 2 hours to negotiate.
