What % of Dan Kemps wages are we paying?

I did end-up finding some hint online that he only has one year left of his contract, which does suggest it wouldn't be 100% otherwise we'd have taken him on a free, you'd think.

Just wondering why his parent club didn't want to sell him as they obviously don't want him.

As I presume you are well aware. Nobody knows what our budget is. Nobody knows the Kemp deal. Yes, the lack of activity is irritating and, maybe, a little concerning, but until it’s finalised how can anyone form an opinion.

In days gone by before transfer windows players signed throughout the season and integrated well enough without the need for pre-season games. Again, I presume those players actively seeking a new club have kept themselves fit until they find one.

Presumably the player isn't keen on just walking from his contract - the club would have to pay him off to make him walk.  A club like ours is not going to offer to match his current wage, so he doesn't want to jump and forfeit that financial benefit to himself for another 12 months.

Or he does not want to join permanently

Which supports my point - one very good reason to not take a Permanent deal elsewhere is the financial security you have with your current contract.  He may feel he can perform with us on loan and be in a stronger position in 12 months to demand a similar wage for his next move as well.  He's been with Chelsea and West Ham, so i doubt he lacks confidence in his own talent level.

nobody *knows* everything.

anecdotal evidence - 2 loan signings, one youngster. two friendlies left before the season.

the preseason and recruitment**to this point** has, frankly, been shit.

No one can seriously think, after another week of inactivity, that we will be anywhere near it this year. We can bleat about 'the market' but other people are doing serious business. The fact is that under Clem we are now just bystanders in the 4th Tier. Maybe that's fine, maybe it isn't.

It isn't.

Is that to be filed under Funeral ideas that sounded funnier on paper than in reality?

I'm assuming he meant Coffin, you'd struggle to fit a Hearse in a car.
