Not that simple though is it?

We signed Dan Kemp on loan - he’s not a Premier League youngster who a club is willing to let out for nothing (because he makes up 0.00001% of their wage bill) in return for first team football.

He’s a player from a fellow L2 club who don’t plan to use him and want him off the wage bill. So we must be paying his wages? Or at least a favourable % of his wages - so how is that situation any different to signing a player on a one year deal?

Perhaps we aren’t paying his wages but that does Franchise absolutely no favours what so ever.

it's only different if he goes back in January.

it's not a disaster to only sign loans IF they are good. But it obviously limits your market and leaves you exposed.

Not my point.

Kemp won’t be coming here for nothing. So we will be paying wages which goes against the we are skint and can only afford to get loans in mantra. Wages for a loan player (of his nature) =/= wages for a permanent player on a 1 year deal, no?

If it were true I’d only expect to see Prem / Champ youngsters who the parent club would probably let come on loan for free (as long as they are playing) because their weekly wages are less than a ticket, pint and chips at a home game for said club, so extremely insignificant…

well obviously we have *some* budget.

you can guess whatever you like on wage %. if be amazed if it's 100%

we've let Williams go, so you can bet he's at least cheaper than that.

Didn't I read he will be OOC at the end of the season?  In which case I'd wager we are not footing his entire wage, otherwise they'd be just as good to send him on a free and get rid of the liability.

Although I can find no quick evidence for my memory!  So maybe I'm talking bollocks.

Well this depends on what camp people are in. Some people will say we were paying Williams peanuts and that's why he left

At least 2 Bristol City players have refused to join on loan...

Presumably they talked to Kadji & said fuck that.

Unlike KKH who sang our praises to Barry

The budget will not allow those 5 or 6 'quality' experienced players ....

Only the l outlay on Lower League loan players or Championship youngsters whose % wage we will pay will be minimal

No one can seriously think, after another week of inactivity, that we will be anywhere near it this year. We can bleat about 'the market' but other people are doing serious business. The fact is that under Clem we are now just bystanders in the 4th Tier. Maybe that's fine, maybe it isn't.
