Yeah Cain has had a slow start to his career but if it's a choice between him and Iandolo as our left footed central midfielder it's Cain all day long. Especially as he has the potential to get so much better.

Iandolo has reached his ceiling you feel.

Austin has now scored in more games for Gunning than Morris Smiley

Might have been worth playing him a bit then.

Austin's best game in ages

Cain has a way to go.  Hope he continues.  But reminding me of early Twine.  Good and bad.

What an odd half - Crawley looked quite bright on the wings, attacking our weakness, but by god they look all over the shop at the back.  On the flip side, I thought we've looked OK without being good, but then look a threat every time the ball gets within 30 yards of their goal.

Football at times is simple - get Austin near the ball in the opposition box.

Cain - looked pretty poor aside from his free kick, has someone already compared him to Anton Rodgers?  He is maybe the sort of player you sprinkle on top of a squad as a development option.  Shame for him we brought him to be a first team lynchpin.

Maybe what Mildenhal and Gunning have done, like the last time, is take away a lot of the over complications for the players.  It doesn't make them great players (hence the shit first half against Gills and the fact for 40 mins we looked on a par with Crawley), but at this level, if you can just get a player of the quality of Austin into the opposition box and try and feed him, you will get goals.

Keep saying there is a player in Cain, but he isn't a fucking DCM!

Joniestas replacement in waiting. He'll come good next season.

Flynn "we want to play football".

I was thinking he did change the style at Newport when he could.  He seems a pragmatist - willing to to revert to whatever is needed, which I like given where we are right now.  He likely knows going full long ball for the start of next season would not be an option given the squad he is working with.

We don't half miss Gladwin! Were we as narky as them when Lindsey was here? Don't think so. Still, couple of quid on Chazzer to score first!

I'm pleased that Khan's playing well today, because I like his potential, as long as he can control his temperament.
