Why on earth we sat as deep as we did at 2-0 btw. Lessons not learned from Stockport when we were winning 1-0 with 11vs10. Got to believe in ourselves more

Really happy with the result against what appeared to be a well drilled side

I confess to falling asleep before KO and only just waking up. So that out of the way 1) not read back, 2) someone’s taking the piss, 3) WTF….

I mean we won but we only had 50% possession and only made 20 more successful passes than Northampton - so some might be unhappy with that…

SL made a comment about the lads working hard and said something like “their stats were through the roof”! Made me chuckle as I can imagine a lot of people on here needing their blood pressure checked after that comment.

do you want to compare shots on target and corners?

we did win the only stat that matters though

It was a great result but Swindon were very fortunate to win the game. The stats you mention are slightly misleading. Performance levels still need to improve. If Northampton had their shooting boots on they would have won the game comfortably. Still I’m delighted with the result.

A corner every 6 minutes for Northampton (if you go with the game being 90)
That’s quite impressive as it is. Let alone the fact we didn’t concede from any of them

fair point, good defending on them.

15 though, that's not something you see very often

Only one stat matters.

Positives- 3 points, battled hard, goals from defenders
Negatives- brynn overworked, jephcott no service, nothing really fixed.

Such an important 3 points for league table. January needs to hurry up and get some players through the door or a new style implemented.

Massively enjoy the 3 points but not sure the issues have been fixed so wont get carried away. A platform at least

A shame the lightning isn't very good and you can't really see the Town fans

Brilliant hard fought and fortunate win.   Gave them far too many set pieces and sat far too deep, but we won so who cares.
Scoring more than 1 goal is bonus as doesn't happen very often.

Enjoyed today (unexpectedly) and roll on Colchester on Sunday.

Apart from passing it around a lot we still have no discernible style or plan.

Or any authority on the pitch. Remember when Anthony Grant dominated the whole game. We need that this January. It’s so good to wake up to a win, but don’t let it paper over the obvious cracks. Some good individual performances, but there is no functioning “unit” there.
