Wow!

Thought we would lose that when they scored.

Brynn clear MotM first half and did well second.
MacDonald was good first half and outstanding second.
FBT was solid for the whole game.

Thought the subs weakened us considerably. Wakeling can’t play on the right. Jephcott was more effective that RHM. Because although RHM ran around, he rarely made the ball stick or passed it. Jephcott did, even though the service was poor.

The turning point for us was when Williams came into the game and kept winning free kicks.

Shade had a good game as did Lavinier.

Gladwin had nothing left at 70 mins.

Just think where we could be with a manager who knew his arse from his elbow.

This.

Keeping Brynn this season is more important than Yates and Doyle a few years ago. Don't be cunts Middlesborough.

Well, I don’t know if there was a game plan, but I will take that.

Perhaps something like “when you get an opportunity fucking put your foot through it” was part of the game plan.

2 goals from 1 1/2 chances. Absolutely clinical!

ok a tad lucky but a much needed 3 points.

while the performance doesn't suggest upturn, small things can make a difference in confidence and follow this up Sunday maybe just maybe we can go on a run

maybe

Its crazy, we are 5th in the table before the turn of the year, In other years we would take it.

If we were more consistence we would be up there with Orient.

Here's to a better 2023.  Beers

Huge win - well positioned for the crucial January window and second half of the season despite not being great so far.

Brilliant win, much needed. As pedestrian as we were in the first half, we looked more of a threat in the second and looked more assured at the back. Slight annoyance is the incessant trying to play their way out of trouble by Khan and Gladwin which often led to Northampton attacks, but thought MacDonald and FBT dealt with everything put to them. Not our best performance and certainly very un-like Swindon to win that, but fuck me, how many times have we been on the end of something like that? We’ll take it!

Lindsey:
- Showed good character in how we defended
- Worked hard out of possession
- Didnt play well with the ball
- Resilient at the end
- Aware of physical threat
- Disappointed to concede
- Not many teams will come here and win
- Lavinier goal. Done a lot of work on the training ground to get him into those positions. Lindsey has been doing a lot of work with hime to get him to cut in onto his right foot and shoot
- Williams could have scored at the far post a couple of times
- Pleased for Shade as he's got goals in him
- Complete coincidence that it was the biggest team that SL could field. Normally would field smaller technical players against big teams
- FBT and MacDonald headed everything and cleared their lines
- Gladwin's work ethic off the ball was good
- Set piece defending: Only one scary one at 45 mins. Apart from that we defended well
- Pleasing to get a win
- Still not there with Austin, but almost there. He's been a big player throught his career. He can add to our fire power and help our young team.
- Lindsey said he'd had a bit of stick....and then the feed cut out.

I didn't see the game but he had just started talking about taking some stick after the Walsall game when he was cut off during his interview with Hawes.

A great win, but now it's time to back it up, too many times this season we've had a good result and not followed it up. We've been horribly inconsistent so far.

Rode our luck, but god we’ll take that. Positives were centre backs and Brynn, and brighter spots (not just the goal) from Shade. Memorable strike from Lavinier, for his first league goal. Northampton looked more threatening tonight than they did when they beat us at home. Jephcott had no service whatsoever and I’m not sure Austin would improve us tonight because he wouldn’t have seen the ball either.

What would improve us, I think, is having Williams back in the midfield three, dropping Iandolo, and getting more movement in front of the midfield. There was poor decision-making too…. when Iandolo shot at 1-0 in the second half, he had a very easy through ball to put Jephcott through. We’ve got to be feeding him in situations like that.

But, two wins in 3, however tonight came, gives us some momentum. Come on you Reds.
