Well, that was a bit of a disaster. Three, maybe four injuries (hoping Clayton was a precaution), no points and no shots on target. Hope Khan isn't too bad.

Erm... MoM anyone?

This is the closest I've got to adding that option, to be honest.

Three did OK for me today - Clayton, Brennan and FBT.

Clayton snuffed most stuff out early. He made one mistake in the first half, but apart from that, was very good. Brennan seem to be in the right position to complement Clayton and made a very good block from a shot in the first half. FBT was our attacking threat on the left.

Out of the 3, the fact we fell apart when he went off, means I'd give it to Clayton. (But that could be that they could push up more from the back as Adeloye got nowhere near the ball and didnt track back like Wakeling).

I went for FBT because he played in two positions.  Granted only at a 6/7 level in both, but he was the only threat on the left going forward, which is a big ask for a centre half.

The agreed "protest votes" when we've had a stinker tend to be whoever came on as a substitute for the shortest period of time and whoever people have been most scathing about (whether that's to wind them up or as a sort of reflex defensive thing, who knows).

Standout thing of recent times for me is 9 votes in 15 games for Luke Jephcott. For our big end of window signing, he's been an absolute bust. I don't think it's really his fault, stylistically we've not played to his strengths, but he's not made anything like the impact we'd hoped.

I don’t know the money or potential money involved but don’t think we are getting anything out of him we wouldn’t be getting out of Josh Davison (if we’d signed him obviously)

Perhaps on hindsight we should have tried to sign him?

…and on the subject of last seasons #9s is Simpson fit yet?

i was a fan of davison. missed chances but also scored/created chances.

The problem with jephcott is that he isn't scoring or missing chances. he isn't getting any chances. is that him (previous goal scoring record suggests may be not) or is that the team/set up

Probably a fair bit to do with the way the team set up but I feel Davison would still be putting himself about a lot more.

Whilst I don’t think it would make a massive positive difference to our attacking play. I think defenders would have more to deal with Davison even if it was just his work rate and pressure.

I mean, yes Jephcott isn’t getting chances and yes that’s majorly on the team but if he isn’t getting chances he literally adds no value. Davison would at least add work rate.
