On reflection, it was a shit game and every team plays shit games, as we well know.

However, what pisses me off is that I had high expectations for both home-country games today and they were both awful. So it must be my fault for forgetting that games rarely live up to your hopes. At least BT didn't show any rugby tonight so nothing was lost.

Why are people getting so het up over a dull England performance? God knows there’s been enough of them before.

I don't really remember us ever flying through the group stage

I think Wales need to win 4-0 for us not to qualify. if they do that then we deserve to go out

You can see it now, Wales are going to beat England 1-0.

England qualify for the second phase & Wales go home on a high

Haha, I literally just said something similar in a chat group.

As long as we're in the knockouts that's all that matters. It's from then on that Southgate earns his money.

It's all about progression into the knock out stage.

Goes to show though that even teams at elite level struggle against an intelligent press & well thought out defensive set up.

It's called "group management" I believe. And Southgate is good at it.

..oh,and if yer darling Brazil had put in a performance like ours against Iran, everyone would've been all over it. Always get far more comments after a perceived poor performance it seems
