That was an absolute defensive masterclass from the Saudi’s.

Let Argentina have the ball deep. They won every header going and when they needed to put their foot through it they absolutely fucking booted the living daylights out of it (take note Swindon)

Although it was offside in the build up that header off the line was immense.

…I know the debate about Ronaldo and Messi is endless but I’ve always felt Ronaldo has a much more galvanising effect on the players around him where as Messi just struts around trying to be Messi.

If it wasn’t for the fact he’s so short - you could have mistaken him for Iandolo today.

Glad I stayed up to watch that

It's great isn't it.
Can't think of any scenario where Argentina v Saudi Arabia would be of interest to non-partisan fans other than at a world cup.
Well deserved win in the end.

Let’s also not lose sight of the fact Saudi Arabia are ranked 31 places below Iran - who we despatched with ease yesterday

fair fucks. The Saudis were excellent in the second half.

Will Argentina go out? I doubt it. But makes them sweat a bit

Doesn't that just prove that the ranking system is bollocks, Iran, USA and Wales all top 20 and to date all looked pretty useless.

Iran yesterday made RSA look like Brazil today.

I was dipping in and out of it, but once they got a foot in the game they looked incredibly organised and strong, on the top of the high quality shit housing as the game went on.

No idea, the way they played yesterday I was not convinced some of the Iran players had actually played football before.

But they are a lot braver than many players in their convictions https://twitter.com/NasimiShabnam/status/1594798580983799818

Interesting article about the extra time in games being so large.

Fuck you Maradonna and your hand of God you Argie fucks, you were all beaten by the hand of Allah!

That has to be one of THE biggest upsets in World Cup history, fair play to the Saudis, ignore the politics and religion (yes despite my first comment but Diego started that one!) this is what all cups are about, the plucky underdog biting the big boys on the nuts.

This rightly can enter into this prestigious lot.

At least United have sacked Ronaldo to give us some afternoon content.
