Its just a starting position isn't it?

Some start with a blank page.
Some start with a pre-judgement.

At the end of a day, for most people its ultimately the results that matter. Win a lot or lose a lot and you get to the same place regardless of starting position.

There are always some "told you so" and some "told you to wait and see".

A free week should have been good for helping to get the deadline day arrivals up to speed.

Bear in mind that the prep would have been focused on Newport.
Some quick thinking on Friday might have seen a shift of emphasis to dealing with Sutton. That's the hope.

Felt that the approach against Gillingham was the first real step backwards since Harrogate.
Still a learning curve for SL & hopefully he has the backing & confidence to manage without fear.

Thats human nature, some fans are half full glasses, some half empty glasses.

For me I didn't want Lindsey I thought he was a weak appointment but I am willing to give him time as I feel this is way too early to be sacking him, but the football has been way less than inspiring so far. There seems a poor use of subs and the tactics, at times, seems almost non existant.

I do see improvements though but probably not fast enough for many fans.

I guess I am just more patient than most and try to see the best and try to not dwell so much on the poorer aspects.

Transfer windows that slam shut a month into the season do not help with this.

A manager can set up a team to play a certain way with certain players in certain position throughout pre season and the first month of the season then all of a sudden lose players & get new players last minute.

Like you said, we were making (slow) progress but then sold McKirdy and bought in Jephcott who is a completely different player that probably requires a different game plan/style

Have we got a game plan/style?

If so, I’m fucked if I can tell what it is.

I’ve seen enough. Taxi for Lindsey!

Indeed, the shorter pre season wasn't enough game time to show that the initial 352/361 etc was not going to work and Hutton is not capable of playing in a back 4 (so far) meaning we had to invest in a left back and right back what with Devine being injured as much as Lyden.

Personally I think he should have bought in players initially that could play both wingback and fullback roles, like Hunt could who was released.

Also its been glaringly obvious that Adeloye is not going to be good enough straight out the blocks so we should really have got a striker in before deadline day (if we could) rather than waiting to see if Harry was going or staying (which should have been irrelivant) as we should have added to the squad anyway, unless we were running close to the budget limits until Harry left.

Theatre of the Absurd at times.

Still more good than bad though in approaching 45 years of support that was never earned.
I'll take that.

Yeah, fancy being a Man U fan during the Ferguson era, trophy after trophy must have been so bloody tedious. I mean the only thing to piss off the fans was the Glaziers buying the club. I mean in recent times we must have had more owners than they won those trophies.

I’m out tonight so I’ll miss it live.

Just have to decide whether to keep up with events or just wait til the full game is available on iFollow and ‘treat’ myself, bereft of knowledge of the, no doubt, boring spectacle.

Beer will decide for me.
