Well, I didn't expect to have many candidates for this at half time, and here we are - quite a few candidates based on the second half performance, both substitutes and those who were on the pitch for the first 45.

Who do you give the nod to?

Could give it to any of the back four + keeper that finished the game in my view, or maybe Darcy as the brightest of the subs. I'm going Brynn, but I'm happy with any of those six.

Brynn because he played the 90

Clayton & Darcy deserve mentions.

Brynn 8:
Made a couple of cracking saves. Also made a couple of lucky ones

Shade 5 :
He looked to struggle. I don’t see that he is a left wing back.

MacDonald 6:
Was all over the shop in the first half, but much better when he focussed on just defending in the second

Baudry 6:
Worst half I have seen from him for months. Solid in the second

Brennan 4:
Thought he had a mare. Was turned inside out all the time.

Hutton 6:
Anonymous in the first but much better in the second

Reed 5:
Struggled in the first half as no one was in a position that he could pass to then move and receive. Defended well and passed the ball well in the second

Khan 5:
Ran around and harried. Awful touch.

Gladwin 6:
More nimble and lively, but needs to stay up the pitch as he gives the ball away too easily in defensive areas. Could and possibly should have scored

Wakeling 5:
Ran around, nicked the ball alot, could have had a penalty and could have had a goal

McKirdy 4:
Looked frustrated at first and spent 14 mins shouting at the ref for the first yellow. Then dropped deeper and was starting to get into the game when he got an unfair second.

Subs:
Odeloye 4:
Looked poor

Clayton 7:
Very good defensive performance against a couple of lively players

Darcy 6:
Good touch. Good movement. Read the game. Defended well. Wasn’t a yellow card.

Williams 5:
Didn’t do alot when he came on

Aguilar:
Not on long enough to judge

Brynn from Gladwin

I went the other way around, but Brynn is a deserved winner.  I thought Gladwin changed the game when he pushed forward in the second half.

Brynn made two full stretch saves in the first half and a marvellous finger tip save to push the ball over the bar in the second half. A clean sheet for the lad, well deserved man of the match. Thumb

Fair. Both were the only consistent performers across the 90.

Frenchy did ok to but wasn't stand out

I expected more from MacDonald considering he's played at a higher level.

Like I said in the other thread that system first half left him having to keep stepping into midfield as it was overrun and getting the run around, second half he was fine.

Maybe you're right and he will get better as he gets more games behind him and comparing him to Paul McGrath & Ledley King who hardly trained and missed many games is slightly unfair😀

Gladwin gets my vote for this one as he was the closest to the Gladwin of old I have seen for a while. Much fitter and alert than last season. His response to their keepers fuck up would have been rewarded by a corker of a goal if not for one of the best defensive interventions I have seen for some time.

Ben nicked it from Brynn who had a corker of a game and has persuaded me that it probably isn't worth listening to folk spout bollocks until I have seen someone play in the flesh.
