The Smiths have done some cracking songs, but yes there are some sombre ones that I tend to skip.

Apart from the scene in Four Lions...

I think most songs I don't like are largely just overplayed (I Gotta Feeling, Chasing Cars).

I'm not generally anti Beatles but Hey Jude is immensely annoying. Same with Sweet Caroline - would probably be fine without the endless singalongs.

I hate the song too. Didn't realise till recently it's a cover version, i thought they'd written it.

PDC's version is a particular highlight, however.

RE: The Smiths. Many are quite right in that Morrissey is a complete and utter dick but they do have some absolute belting tunes. Plus Johnny Marr is actually the better (lead) half of them and imo the real talent behind the band. Morrissey was very much just "he who shouted/sang loudest".

Still a good band of its era!

Can't stand THE ISLAND BOYS, fucking pointless, talentless, dickwads!

I can't stand The Smiths, have never got it, never will..  I know that is not the popular opinion, but there it is..

Love Mitch Benn, met him many times and seen his live show at least 7 times, a great bloke for a scouser Smiley and yes totally agree on the Smiths Smiley most over rated band since Oasis Wink
