Just avoiding defeat is great as they will have to attack which suits our style perfectly.
Absolutely, we can hit them on the counter with pace from McK, Payne and Williams as well as Barry, they couldnt cope with us when we did that earlier in the game.

Open them up at the back and hit them on the break, will be ideal for us. Defensively they looked quite weak against pace today.

There did seem to be quite a lot of empty seats at the front of the Arkells actually, strange situation if the match is sold out. Is that the the family and friends section?
People shelter further back to get out of the rain quite often I find. Maybe tickets given to players friends and family who don’t turn up? End of the day every available home ticket was sold.

Swindon fans vs Man City - 12,435
Swindon fans vs Port Vale - 12,427

Game was all sold out for Swindon fans 100%.

Vale only selling out 75% of their allocation for a play off though really is shit.

Don’t know why they are moaning about the away end, if they had said they would only bring 1600 they could have had the usual away seats and Town fans would have been out in the rain! Tinpot!

Years since I’ve been in the Arkells but aren’t some of those front seats for stewards / police / St. John’s ambulance / medical staff and the like. If you mean the Town End side of the tunnel if you’re looking at it from the DRS.

there will also be spill seats in case of ticketing problem.

for example, two people had been allocated the seat next to me, the season ticket holder and a random.

Piss poor goal to concede as we should've been 3 up.

right my thoughts,

started slowly, grew into it and scored a rare goal from a corner.

second half worries me. we lost the midfield battle, for large periods there were obvious gaps. Vale were better than us

and yet we created chances. mckirdy did his thing , and had Davidson put away his chance of have started to glance at Wembley travel.

but the inevitable happened, a bit soft in my eyes too.

on to Thursday. It's not going finish 0-0. 2-1 won't be enough. but that Vale have to come at us we will created chances with the space.

Do we go with the same 11? probably.

We're going into an away game with a one goal advantage. Even if vale score  early I'd still fancy us. Honestly

Thought the only player who was below par was Davison.

We know trapping the ball / brining the ball down / hold up play isn’t his strength but apart from once that was all we gave him.
No lack of endeavour on his part

Really?
Led the line superbly. If you didn’t go you would have not seen the running he put in.
Created space, Payne and Barry not at their best but no complaints.
All about Thursday now.

Would have taken that before the game but left a bit disappointed. Davison should have made it 3 and we’d have been out of sight. Thought we didn’t play great, Iandolo Reed and Payne all below their usual standards, but still go in with a great chance. No point playing to protect it, play our natural game and we should be off to Wembley at the end of May
