Thursday will be horrible but at least we won't go there relaxed after they got one back. Need to be on it. Could almost guarentee they would score just because it's the play offs!

Could have just given Vale the corner of the Arkells, piss poor.

Nah, they’re cold, wet and they lost. It’s a long miserable trip home. Fuck em.

I've calmed down now.  And 2-1 feels fair, on balance.  PV were decent.  (Dirty fuckers, mind.)  I'll take it.

We'll beat them up there anyway.

Ward - Did ok. He's not a ball playing keeper, but did what was required. If he's going to be here next year and the other fella wants to go, then stick with him.

Egbo - Did well and pinned them back. Crossing was poor

Conroy and Baudry - Both were excellent today

Iandolo - Focussed on defending and defended well.

Williams - Superb. So much energy today.

Reed - Quietly competent.

Payne - Not as influential as normal.

McKirdy - Two pieces of magic. Worth the attendance fee on his own

Davison - Superb in the first half. Less effective after the yellow. Bad miss in second half

Barry - Struggled get into the game

Subs:
Gladwin - Didn't touch ball did he?
Odimayo - Sitting deep caused us problems. Egbo did well as he pinned their left back back

Any positive result going into the second leg is just that, positive.
I'm confident we'll play better at Vale Park than port vale played at the County ground.

Vale are the 2nd best away side in L2, we are, generally, poor at home.

To take a lead to VP is massive.

I have zero worries.

Thought the only player who was below par was Davison.

We know trapping the ball / brining the ball down / hold up play isn’t his strength but apart from once that was all we gave him.
No lack of endeavour on his part

I do like his effort.  Wish his touch was half that

We do always seem to fade after 75 mins in tight competitive games like this so that’s my one concern if goes the distance in the second leg.
