Davison is as usual working his socks off. Fear for him though, one awkward challenge and it's a red which, given Vale's thuggish approach which should have seen at least 4 yellows, would be a travesty. Just a thought,if Davison does get a red we'd be fucked second leg. There's absolutely no substitute for him regardless of his faults

Vale are just an anti football bunch of cloggers typical of a team Flitcroft is involved with. They are right on the edge of making a really nasty challenge so our players need to be careful.
I fear it will be McKirdy on the end of the nastiest this half, hes been winding them up so much, they hate it! he needs to be clever and get one of them sent off and stay uninjured.

Nah deffo some bad tackles in there. At least two 2 footed in front of me in the DRS.

Focusing on Williams and Reed, particularly in the opening 10m, lots of niggles and kicks.

Not enough chances for us first half, good to be in front but we need to improve the play out wide as particularly on the left we're struggling to get the final ball in. Egbo doing a great job on the right and Baudry has been imperious so far.

Need to make sure we don't fall into the traps they're setting for us re:winding up the players.

Another goal in the first 15m of 2nd half and I can see Vale closing the doors for the day and holding on for the home leg. Don't have much creativity going forward and sit deep, leaving Baudry sitting in the centre circle often to recycle possession forwards.

Ward with the ball at his feet still gives me the Herebie jeebies. Can see Davison coming off as he's on a yellow and hasn't been effective first half partly due to being strangled on occasion by the vale defenders, partly because he's been unlucky.

Yeah the ref totally ignored that, he should have been booked for threatening bahviour at least.
I thought Egbo had a lot of the ball but his delivery so far has been pretty shit TBH.

Think Egbo just needs to whip one in first time rather than trying to get to the bye line every time
