Good to be ahead.
Vale's physical style is making it difficult for both us and the ref, who is giving the fouls but not any cards to try and cool it down. It seems like our players are a little reluctant to take a second touch for fear of being clattered from behind. All our open play threat down the right at the moment, Barry and Iandolo struggling a little to impose themselves on the game. Some pretty scary passing around at the back, Vale clearly know to pressure us there.
But hey, we scored from a corner and we're ahead. Would very much have taken that! Keep it up town.

Because Vale are playing wing backs they are finding space wide but most of it all 35 yards out thankfully. They haven’t really looked threatening.
Neither have we, we haven’t really got it behind and we can’t keep the ball up the pitch because Davison hasn’t controlled anything that half. We desperately need him keep the ball better and allow us to get up the pitch.

Egbo has had a lot of the ball - played well.
Surprisingly maybe, but a defensive Iandolo has been brilliant this half.

Vale are just an anti football bunch of cloggers typical of a team Flitcroft is involved with. They are right on the edge of making a really nasty challenge so our players need to be careful.

Yeah the ref totally ignored that, he should have been booked for threatening bahviour at least. Egbo has had a lot of the ball - played well.
I thought Egbo had a lot of the ball but his delivery so far has been pretty shit TBH. |

As for the ref I think he's doing an alright job in the circumstances. Would have liked to see a few yellows for persistent fouling, but Vale are giving him so many decisions to make that he's bound to get a couple wrong, but the most egregious one was on the DRS lino who managed to ignore Egbo being absolutely taken out with the ball long gone on the byline
