Slightly outside the remit of this thread, but Vale have said there'll be an update on 2nd leg tickets this afternoon.

Lucky when? When we lost at home or when we won away?

Anyway, I quite like Vale as a club. Been through the wringer with wrong ‘un owner - not the same league as Power.

If we weren’t in the POs ourselves, I’d want Vale to go through.
Sorry, been stuck working.....

Thought they looked very good at our place. They could have had 3 or 4. Away, we were lucky that McKirdy got their keeper sent off. That changed the whole complexion of the game.

We’ve been given the exact same number of tickets - 2,200. Not in the regular away end, though.

Well, that's the allocations sorted out. Now everyone just needs to get their best willy waving techniques ready as the sales numbers start to come out...

They’ve really played to their fans with this, apart from about 500 seats there is next to no difference between the 2 stands.

There are a few other differences between the 2 stands that you may not have considered. The Hamil, which is where the Vale fans are going to be and we ordinarily are, has better acoustics and serves alcohol on the concourses. It holds 4,500.

The Bycars, where we are going to be holds 3,300 but due to safety reasons can only be at 80% capacity. It will be interesting to see how they segregate that stand because the corner bit looks to be attached to the Bycars. As above no alcohol can be served in the Bycars as the kiosks are in view of the pitch, which seems like a poor design flaw.

But yes, they have definitely done what they can for their fans to give them an advantage, so fair play to them for that. We should still be able to make quite a din in that stand with 2k+ however.

Apparently Sales for Sunday have hit 4000 today after 24hrs. You would expect that to be replicated over the next couple of days and then Friday will be like the Purge for any remaining seats..

But they’d only have given us 2,200 anyway so instead of being in a half empty stand we will now be in a much more full stand, nearer to the home fans so likely to still be able to generate decent noise. Beyond adding a few hundred extra seats for home fans it’s going to make little to no difference.

At the CG we’ve given them no covered seating so they are going to struggle to create any kind of atmosphere especially with the heat expected on Sunday. Combine that with the sun in their eyes meaning they probably won’t see much of the game if they aren’t wearing sunglasses I think we’ve got the much better deal.

It's nearer a thousand extra home fans but both stands should be good for acoustics either way. And yes, I agree with what you say about the home game, we definitely have the advantage off the pitch there.

What may be interesting are the logistics of getting Swindon fans from Burslem to the Bycars stand because apparently that will entail Swindon and Vale fans walking down the same narrow paths the way it's currently setup.

Used to kick off at Vale Park big time.

Remember my first encounter and went by train.
We lost after game was a little scary as the locals had mobbed up and were looking for any Swindon to attack.

Then enter our rescue. Meat Wagon comes alongside us.
“Are you going back to the station?” From the drivers side.
“Yes,” came from a few of us, thinking we were going to get a much needed escort in the dark.
“Get in the back lads,” as 10 of us piled in, collecting another 2 on route.

Despite that episode probably around my 10th or so trip to Burslum and have a soft spot for Vale.
Met some decent fans however they have got a few nutters thus beware.
One game at Swindon they got the baseball bats out of the car, they didn’t come for a peaceful game on the cricket pitch 😂

I was one of the ones that piled into that police van! Probably 82-83 right? Pissing with rain? Only good thing that ever happened to me in Burslem.

I’m too old to get into punch ups over a game of football and at 61 the last thing i need after my heart scare is a good fucking beating at the hands of feral thugs especially with my 18 Y/O son a potential target. So if we manage to get tickets do I drive or go by SAS coach or just hire some SAS vets?
