sound reasoning theakstone (but I reckon we take thousands even on a Thursday.)
We didn’t to Sheffield though and that’s not that long ago.

Long term we need to move away fans down the other end of the Arkell’s as we could easily get 2k away fans at that end as the executive seating area is for some reason much closer to the Stratton Bank end abs limits what can be given to the away section.

They don’t even know their capacity currently it seems, some areas apparently can’t have tickets sold.

Their argument is they sold out their 9000 home tickets for their game against Newport and the away end was empty apart from 300 Newport fans and don't want us gaining any advantage if we take 2000-4000

But the capacity is supposedly 15k and the away end isn’t 6k so there are other areas they can’t sell tickets in clearly. It seems their usable capacity is 12/13k.

I agree the sums don't add up unless the capacity has been reduced to 13,000 something

According to the Vale forum their current capacity is 14,406 but thats allowing for the 4,500 away fans, if those are gobbled up by Vale then there will be less seats due to extra segregation needed so more likely the actual capacity will be nearer 14,000 for sellable seats.

Pretty much the same as us then even though they only average under 6000 for league games.

People are underestimating the impact of the cost of living crisis on the numbers that will travel as well. Birmingham was dead yesterday and restaurants seem more empty than ever so it’s clearly starting to bite.

Weird, I was in Birmingham on Bank Holiday Monday last week and it was absolutely heaving and everywhere packed out.

I presume Vale will reciprocate on the number of away fans.

If we give them the Bank with 2,100 tickets they would have to give us their away end even though we’d only fill half of it. I don’t think they could accommodate 2,100 away fans anywhere else in the ground.

Anyhoo, if we get a 3-0 lead it’s all moot anyway.

Absolutely dead yesterday. Last weekend was bank holiday and payday, out side of that it seems dead. I think a lot of people will have to decide between Vale and being able to potentially afford Wembley.

I could see the Port Vale games panning out like Tranmere in 1993 with two closely fought games. I don't know why, just getting that feeling.

Surely, it has to be time to win promotion through the play offs and end the New Wembley hoodoo.

The playoffs have chucked everything at us. Last gasp equalisers both ways, penalty shootout loses and wins, bobbles, 5-5 games, sent off and injured captains and a Wembley thrashing.

Come on we need to get back into League One South/South West next season. With potentially Bristol Rovers, Cheltenham  Exeter, FGR, Pompey, Plymouth, Oxford, Franchise and Wycombe that would keep the momentum for home and away support.
