We could of played for the rest of the day, we wouldn't of scored. Absolutely no bite. We only ever seem to take risks in our own half. Another season of league two football and trying to stay awake to Garnerball awaits

Was JoJo at fault?

Yes.  But the whole team were poor.

Sadly, the result was as I predicted.  Won't go up if you can't score goals.

Tbf, I haven't heard much from the home fans either

Hardly fucking surprising. We are just too iffy.

A win without one shot on target.

Any tips for the National?

I wouldn't say at fault, more indecisive
Came to the edge of the right hand side of the box and let the striker go round him and roll the ball along the goal line. Conroy slid in at the near post and bundled the ball in. There was another forward behind him unmarked who would have scored if he hadn't tried anything.

This is where you end up when you put together a team of such mixed levels of ability.  We remain a decent team at keeping the ball, we have a few good players who can cut teams apart when on song in this division, but we are so predictable and have such gaping holes when any sort of pressure is applied to us defensively.

Examples for me are Aguiar, Mitchell-Lawson, Davison - these three are simply not good enough if you were looking to go up.  Aguiar had a good game or two when flying on the confidence gained from performances at a division several levels lower, but you can't retain that forever and it's obvious to me he is not at this level (yet).

Davison is a lower league effort player, but has all the natural striker instincts displayed by Norris when he was here.

Mitchell Lawson is the typical Academy player who earned his slot on "potential" rather than talent.  The problem with those types is many never end-up getting the talent bit.  He looks like that.  Barry was wasteful (his decision making is terrible, but he is young enough to develop that) but he had a presence when on the pitch.  As soon as Lawson was on, nothing came from that part of the pitch at all.  That is not coincidence.

Since the January window, we've put together a mid-table team when all combined.  Relied almost entirely on McKirdy to offer something - which he certainly can.  He is likely playing a league too low.

I get to watch a lot of MLS, and we look exactly like one of those teams (a level or two behind mind).  You watch those games and see some really good talent but you also see players in the same team who really shouldn't be playing in the same league.  You see teams quite well coached, striving to match the way the big leagues play these days, but not with enough talent to make that work with the right intensity.  That's us.

I still have my long term doubts about Garner, but the January window killed this season.

Jojo, wtf were you doing out there. Conroy,  wtf? There was nobody on you. Team, wtf? Are you talking?
Garner, what game are you watching. Newport fans, can't you cope with a crowd over 4,000?

Don't bet as it's a mug's game.  I put a small e/w bet on Commodore.

On the goal, I think Baudry goes to sleep and that creates the panic that means JoJo gets caught between two stools and Conroy flops on the ball.  Nobody covered themselves in glory there, but it's the issue with our choice of players.  Baudry and Conroy also play far to slowly, they set the tempo and it enables teams to organise.

Vale had 6800 home fans. Terrible.
Oxford lost and still had 400 less home fans than us.
