Not in a million years.
He was captain when Payne went off on Saturday wasn’t he?! So logical choice. Only other options are Hunt or Lyden.

Can only hope Jonny Williams is fit enough to feature.

Think I'd go with this;

Ward

Kesler Hayden
Odimayo
Conroy
Crichlow
Hunt

Reed
Lyden

Williams (if fit)

McKirdy

Simpson

Subs

Idem
Iandolo
O'Brien
Gladwin
Grant
East
Parsons

Gladwin in for Williams if he doesn't make it with Dabre moving up to the bench.

Some will say harsh on Iandolo but that's our best X1 (minus Wollacott & Payne) for me.

I’d go with that same starting XI.
Think it’s 9 on bench for FA Cup so would add Mitchell Lawson and Dabre (only choices I think without going into youth squad)

Morning, TEFers. Who’s feeling optimistic?

Just hoping for a good game - with us playing our part - and maybe even scoring. Looks like they will be playing a handful of their main men - today’s testing notwithstanding - all under the CG lights and a full house. Good to see 2,500 Mancs filling the Bank - hope the weather doesn’t ruin it for them.

Wish I could be there! Enjoy!

My heart says that we can pull off a shock win, my head says enjoy the occasion, Mansfield on Tuesday is more important. My other hope is that there is not a flood of bad publicity from disgruntled people who have bought tickets second hand that turn out to be forgeries.

Will also be interesting at how many seats are empty through covid, missed post etc.

I think we’re going to see a surprisingly strong line up from them (but hope it’s the kids - I can watch their first team on MOTD), maybe enforced by the positive tests. All I want is (1) us to acquit ourselves well, and maybe even score and (2) to create an atmosphere, which has been absent this year (*couldn’t make Northampton, maybe that changed?). Really looking forward to it.

Can't wait for tonight (Covid permitting). Even my 8 year old who is normally quite stoic about football asked for an FA cup breakfast.

I want us to put on a good show and the players to enjoy it. Really want to see Simpson putting Stones on his arse at some point.  Given where we were in the summer I would love for a party atmosphere.

Heart is telling me there is an upset on the cards. Head says otherwise but I am not listening to that. COYR

Would be my starting line up.

Completely forgot about JML. He wouldn't change my thinking regarding who starts but would be added to the bench as you suggested.

Iandolo is nailed on to start.

I reckon he will start tonight.
We simply don’t have the depth in the squad beyond 2 or 3 players and hope this is addressed this month.

I think you're right, although I wouldn't start him personally. Hunt is far more solid defensively & we'll need that solidity tonight.

If Iandolo does start, & he probably will, his licence to get forward as he usually does will probably be revoked.

I agree with Freddy's selection but think that Crichlow will miss out at the expense of Conroy. The latter has to start. Hunt to stay at CB with Iandolo at LWB.
