so what are the opinions out there about if it is rainy, how does that affect a team that likes to possess the ball...when the ball gets slick it is a bit harder to keep it under control...i would hate to see them lose possession in our defensive 1/3 instead of just clearing it.

It's not that high up but is the highest.

Oldham is cold though, as is Grimsby, especially with a north easterly wind from the north sea coming straight at the away end.
