Some predictions from Carlisle fans.

Quote
Swindon Town 1 (McKirdy) Carlisle 4 (Abrahams 2 Mampala 2)

Swindon beat an awful Scunthorpe side, tipped for the bottom comfortably when themselves were tipped to struggle.

If we can’t beat a side put together 5 minutes before the season then serious questions need asked. We won’t though, comfortable win 3-1

0 - 2 Carlisle

From what I`ve seen so far, which to be fair isn`t much, we`ve a hard working fairly fit team, albeit perhaps lacking some skill. Defence and midfield look pretty sound but the attack looks a tad lightweight. If we can get a goal up I`d feel fairly confident we can go on to win, go a goal behind and we may struggle to get back in the game. However, early days optimism, benefit of the doubt and all that, I`ll go for a 2-0 win for the blues.

Still confident for the season ahead, but tomorrow could go either way. We’re still adapting to the loss of Hayden, and in the absence of Clough we are lacking our main creative outlet. Swindon have started very well, beating Scunny away and taking Cambridge to penalties the other night. Their fans are galvanised, and there will be a big crowd cheering them on. Going for a 2-1 win in front of a crowd approaching the 10k mark, though it’s a far tougher game than some suggest.

0 2 Swindon. They are on a high, McKirdy is going to be insufferable. Don't see where the goals are coming from.

Swindon 0-3 Cufc - we'll find our shooting boots and the defence will remain tight. It's going to be a good day.

0-2 to us They have sold over 8000 tickets.

2-0 to Swindon.

I had a butchers' earlier and noticed some of them are getting a bit carried away. Hopefully the players and manager will be too.

Interesting fact.

Tomorrow 1st home game of the season marks the 125th season anniversary that we have played at the County Ground.

I understand that the first 1st team fixture played there was 19th September 1896 vs Wolverton LNWR in front oif 4,000 fans a game we won 4-0.

season ticket arrived today - looking forward to being back at the CG tomorrow - I’d settle for a 1-0 win.
Still early days, with new players settling in. Don’t look at the table until after 10 games.

Don't know about you, LL, but when we're top of the league I look quite often.  :-) Hopefully looking again tomorrow at about 5.

I will probably park at Fleming Way and soak up everything the town has to offer.

Currently trying to guilt trip my sister into driving my nephew down to Swindon from my Mum's place just north of London, where they're visiting for the weekend, as he's desperate to come tomorrow Cheesy
