The rumours for awhile have been that the other parties that own the club (legally and via clem) have been pushing for it to be sold for sometime and Clem was resisting.

Maybe the even more restricted financial releases in the last few months also play into the idea that something has been going on behind the scenes.

Heart obviously wants it to be true but my brain says it doesn’t really align with the current state of play.

Prior to IH contract and ST announcements and push for the DRS, I was hopeful. Post all of that, I’d resigned myself to no sale this year.

If a sale has happened, scrutiny would be needed on the incoming party to evaluate if it’s a clean break new start or more of the same before any celebration and looking forward could happen.

There aren't going to be any articles about this rumour and the club aren't going to communicate anything until anything concrete happens, any potential owner will not want this in the public domain unless they are looking to put pressure on the current owners, which unless it is a takeover is not likely to be a scenario.

Exactly where I'm at with it.

Hoping they sell and not just to the next chancer connected or brought in by them (of waiting in the shadows unofficially), but I've been beaten down so much by disappointment I won't get my hopes too high.

I'd take a season of staying up by the skin of our teeth if it means a truly clean break. Even losing Holloway. Off the pitch matters are the most important for medium to long term.

Under Holloway we’ve got an identity and a decent nucleus of a squad for next year. He knows the players, what they are capable of and where we need to improve. I don’t know if I can handle another, largely new squad like we’ve been accustomed to under Clem.

I'm not going to believe rumours until something substantive comes out, but if the hangers on are insisting on taking cash and scarpering (before they get found out, one might suggest?), then you'd hope whoever comes in after is going to continue what has finally started going right at the Town and keep on Holloway and the playing staff, which would be hilariously ironic that we have a massive change at the top but the playing staff stays the same, as opposed to pretty much every season under Clem where it's been the complete opposite topsy turvy circus.

I do also wonder if IH is somewhat involved in any possible interested parties? It's not like he's got no contacts in the football world, and after a few meetings with the current owners could see the reasons why the club as is isn't performing to what it should be, or more importantly, could be (as the potential of the club is massive). Spend another year or two in charge of the team, then take a nice cushy backroom 'consultant of football' position or something in a few years to resume his retirement. He's said a few things in pressers that makes it feel he's got frustrations about the way the place is run - but this might just be reading what I'd like into it as opposed to him just being him.

FWIW I don't think IH is the Messiah (you could argue he's just a very naughty boy), but it would be v funny for him to come in and essentially save us from decades of mismanagement and crooks. Statue #3?

It would not surprise me.  It has always been most likely in my mind that Standing cleared the path for what we have now, so long as he got back enough of what he though he was owed.  Clem seemed pushed into taking a step beyond just being a shareholder likely to get something from a ground development.  Chris K is unlikely the beneficiary of millions in savings, so whatever they put up to protect the ongoing ownership and revenue stream for them was not likely a long term investment.  Austin is probably the most likely to want hang around - why else is he involved if not to milk a little, and Clem is probably stuck until someone offers the debt payoff.

Seems like the Standing & Chris K side would be time limited on this - not wanting long term exposure.  Clem is probably in need of a big deal, so less likely to push for a sale.
