We should all attend matches dressed as clowns, wearing orange hats of course.
I doubt you will get any Town fan to wear Oxford kits to games.... Wink

I thought you were already doing that?

I guess this is why they don't release direct statements often. Because the justified backlash is out for all to see

I do agree there's a degree of defending the indefensible, but it's not impossible to make this statement say something like "we took advice and did all we reasonably could, we're sorry if anyone had an adverse experience and we'll do our absolute best to learn lessons in the future" without admitting liability and without blaming the fans for having the temerity to attend.

Yep, they could have done a bit of damage limitation if they had sense.  They could have easily said "We spoke to H&S professionals to reach the decisions to mitigate any H&S risks etc however we have taken your comments on board and appreciate that communication could have been better and we will do our best to improve the communication between the fans and the club for future weather events.  Thank you for your continued and valued support"

But no, it was the fog and fans fault.  And the incident of the CCTV camera above the ladies toilets in the Arkells is just so avoidable.  Twats.

The main takeaways from the statement are the deep-seated culture of disdain for the fans, and the rock solid certainty that things will not get better, because in their eyes, this is not failure.

I don't think it is even disdain - I think it is the response of an inept CEO who needs to react to criticism with full defence of himself.  He's so fucking bad that he gets knocked a lot, and a result feels the need to tell everyone it's not his fault.  Fans then become and easy group to blame - there are so many of them I can say it wasn't aimed at everyone when they get even more irate.

What are the rules in terms of what format the fans forum should be? I don't want an hour of Holloway filibustering, or either of the Woods - just Clem, Anthony Hall, whichever Kiely he wants to pretend is the shareholder, Sotty, Wotsee and any of his off the books matchday guests.

I actually hate the club at the moment. Nothing about the way it is ran is for the benefit of the fans or the club itself. If anything sums the whole thing up it’s the fact that we’ve now got a supporters club that aren’t even interested in looking out for the interests of the fans, it’s just got Morfuni’s number one fan pretty much leading it and gaslighting the fans just as much as the club does.

I’m at the point now where I find it almost impossible to consider myself to be a Town fan as there’s almost nothing to connect with. Sad state of affairs.

I think a lot of longstanding fans that like us that have cared about this too much and been through it too may times are feeling exactly like this.  There becomes a point (and we are probably way past it) when it's just not worth it anymore.

I haven't "really" enjoyed it since Wellens, and that was pre Morfuni ownership and under the ownership of another absolute turd.  It's just exhausting..

Well, these putrid shysters have done for me. All the years of midweek away games, pouring over the fixture list and being like a kid at Xmas when there’s a game upcoming.

We’ve probably got a game this weekend but I haven’t even bothered to find out who. Tbh, I’m not even sure a change of ownership would get the juices flowing again.

I’ve had enough.
