They've said before they don't believe in marketing football.

Although they also said they were hiring a marketing person, so your guess is as good as mine.

I've just listened to the Joe Acklam interview with Clem and Hall where he said that actually. I assume it never happened? Or was it delegated to one of the current staff to do along with all the other roles.

Other things I noticed : I *think* Hall said the club shop would be finished by September 14th. He also said that whilst attendances were down by about 2k on the last 2 years the income is the same. Not quite sure how that works with ticket prices for match days being decreased.

But hey, we're plodding on nicely on the pitch aren't we!   Roll Eyes

Similar to the way that budget has gone up but playing budget has gone down (allegedly).

That might actually explain it actually, I never thought about that.

Part of me hopes it’s true, may wake a few more fans up.

I emailed the Supporters liason about the removal of the online option of the Family 1 ticket, I can't get to the club shop during their restricted opening hours and don't trust the phone option, I got this reply...

Hi James,

Sorry for the delay in replying to your query, I have been on annual leave.

We also announced on the clubs Ticketing ‘X’ that we would be making the decision to remove the option online. We do also offer digital tickets when paying over the phone if you do have concerns over postage. We would like to stress that we do not wish for this to be a long term/permanent issue. The issue is with Ticketmaster’s permissions in which it should only allow you to purchase 1 under 18 at the discounted rate with 1 paying adult. This was not the case and being used in the incorrect way. Therefore, have had to make the decision to remove it until Ticketmaster can amend the issue.

Many thanks,

Vicki

Very much seems the 'baby out with the bathwater' option being chosen again.

A % of the fanbase will never wake up- they will still clap along when we are struggling to compete with clubs in the national league!

I find it hard to believe the $18b ticketing behemoth can't implement a simple ticketing policy for little Swindon Town. Everything, rather convieniently, is always someone else's fault.

Yep, much more likely is the package was requested without sufficient consideration to the processes needed.  Easy to then blame the ticketing partner, who are likely just selling tickets the way they were asked to.  Especially at our scale - this will be plug and play stuff, ticketmaster will not want to exert much effort, so the onus is on us setting things up to use their functionality.
