Disabled access...
The club are trying to get a disabled lift put in but currently its not close and needs a lot of funds available, I was told that during our STFC Museum tour.

I would have thought there would be provision for disabled access in hospitality.

There is. It's the Legends Lounge being on the ground floor. So the suites upstairs wouldn't be a suitable replacement.

When we looked for an in home through floor lift we were looking at £15-33k. So I can't eve begin to imagine the cost for putting one in an old concrete stand like the Arkells. I don't blame the club for not having one yet but hopefully a way to fund one can be found some day.

The majority of the donations for the STFC museum tours are going towards that cause we were told by Dick Mattick as currently a small percentage of the tour takes place at the level above and currently there is little  access for the ambulant and zero for non ambulant disabled.

Weren’t disabled lifts one of the options when the trust membership chose to build a Don rogers statue?

Th eJV money has gone towards the general repairs and the Legends Lounge, it only something like 60k a year they bring in from the rent and assume costs of running the business.

If the money for the legends lounge updates has come from the JV, would the trust not have had to sign off on these changes getting criticism as well?

The harsh reality is that there is no commercial benefit from putting a lift in that will cost tens of thousands for only a handful of people to use.  You would also need to provide other facilities such as toilets so could easily cost well over 100k.

It's an old stand that will never meet modern standards without a significant rebuild.  I'm sure even most disabled fans would spend that sort of money differently if it was available.

Also, if it genuinely became a huge issue you could always do a video of the upstairs part of the museum and make it ‘interactive’

Not ideal obviously but a much cheaper alternative

The Trust has no direct engagement.  The Trust Board has two representatives on the JV Board who are given the authority to make voting decisions.  The Club have to submit proposals for developments to the CG to the JV Board for approval, in this case they also asked for funding or the JV offered it.  The Club ultimately determine what they want to do to the stadium as the Leaseholder, the Freeholder approves or declines.  Like the gravel pit and shrubbery they have requested.
