Much better but would prefer Grealish down the left rather than Shaw

We’re getting some possession but other than from crosses we don’t look like creating. I just don’t get it, what kind of manager plays a team that has no one capable of playing an incisive pass or some actual creativity. We’ve basically got 8 defensive players, 2 runners and a goal scorer. Surely any half competent manager would sacrifice one of the defensive players and play someone to try and create for the attacking players.

I wouldn't mind our defensiveness so much if we countered quickly.

But we don't even do that.

I'm not particularly bothered about international football (even less so after my interest in club football has waned this year) but looking at the collective shit losing going on on social media I hope England win just for the back tracking its going to lead to.

Both spare keepers need to be in the 23, really odd rules but it's been the same every game

Could you then bring on a keeper out on pitch?
I’ve said my piece on having to have three keepers in the 26 but all three in the 23 too.
What is the point. Thus far I think it’s only Italy who have used two keepers.

Hopefully that Phillips yellow at the end of the half will force a change and allow us to bring on a creative player. Not sure you can trust him for another 45 minutes not to make a risky challenge and the yellow will take away his ‘edge’.

Phillips, Saka, Waker good. Kane, Rice not so good. Henderson or Bellingham on I think, preferably for Rice - both DMs on yellows is asking for trouble.

First ten minutes were awful but better team now.

Pace is troubling their backline no doubt.

Kane has been a complete passenger all tournament. Has he even had a SoT?
DCL should have been in the team from the Scotland game.

Kane seems to purposely play deeper as he's usually heavily marked. When he drops deep, he pulls a couple of defenders with him creating space for Saka/Sterling. We just haven't exploited that yet.
It's been such a cagey game, lets hope for a more adventurous 2nd half.

It's a really difficult one. There's no doubt he's one of the best strikers in the world AND he's badly out of form. Having him back on form would be a huge bonus to our chances of winning the tournament. DCL is a good player but has a lower ceiling.

That's the kind of decision that makes a makes a manager's reputation. I wouldn't want to make it.

Town flag behind Neuer. Quagmire or Costanza?
