It seems very clear that many long term supporters came from the outskirts of Swindon. What happens when these links to the club fade and die😞
Well, back in olden times there was naff all else to do that was even faintly exciting/entertaining. There used to be a whole mass of us travelled on the train from Chippenham to watch STFC - not particularly pleasant when we were playing City or Rovers and they were on the same train!

When did you live in Harwell and how long for?
Up The Holloway - my parents house. In the early 70s for about 7/8 years. It was an STFC enclave, as Cozy Powell lived next door If you fancy moving back, we are trying to let my Mum's house atm

Born at PMH, lived in Hungerford for 35 years now in Thatcham.
My family were from Chilton Foliat and Ramsbury. My gran was head house keeper at Littlecote House when it was owned by the Wills family and used to go to the CG with Seaton back in the 60s and early 70s.
We are hoping to relocate to the Isle of Wight or South Devon to be by the sea and relax eventually.
Swindon til I die!

Latter end of the war baby, born in Hindhead, Surrey as mum was visiting a friend and I decided that was enough of being cooped up. Back to Swindon at six weeks to Commercial Road, then Moredon , Park North and now Greenmeadow for the last nearly fifty years. Where has time gone?

If you knew any Leighs in Harwell at that time I was probably related to them.

That's unbelievable. You are either Mike S or his brother who lived in the Holloway Harwell. Your father had a disability and needed a wheelchair? Yes I also knew Cosy Powell as I needed to repair his Television equipment. Jeremy I lived close by as well Suggest that you would know Duke as well Stay well

Cozy Powell used to have a kick around with us in the park. He lived in that white cottage just as you turned right up the Holloway. Still get back to the village but it’s been spoilt now with the housing developments.
