Will it be removed from the red list? in all honesty who knows.

it's all  a big gamble.

even looking at data isn't any guarantee that the government won't do something silly in contradiction.

not helpful I know. if you can book something that you can cancel fine.

Find some acomms on Booking.com (or similar) and either secure the dates you want or contact the owner directly.

That will give you peace of mind that you can cancel right upto a day before.

Then just book flights when you feel you have the most clarity on the situation. That'll be a personal choice/judgement. They'll likely still be fairly cheap as many won't even want to take an informed/educated risk.

There are also other (legal might I add) ways of going to locations without having to do the extortionately priced hotel quarantine on return.

Gave up on the idea of a holiday abroad this year. Off to Norfolk for a week in the camper van to make a change from the usual Cornwall/Devon/Dorset. Never been before but some of the beaches look lovely.

I did look in this country, but for three nights in a caravan was £700. I paid £1100 all inclusive for 7 nights for 4 people.

Tbh Sippo, you've probably made the more sensible choice between either Kos or Turkey at present. Although like Mr Orangensaft, I'm trying to get out to Turkey again this year. If I can't/it's too expensive for me to do a workaround then I'll settle for Kos (which I'm more than happy about).

You should be fine with Kos really (cue UK Gov do something stupid) and Jet2 are pretty good. Last year I booked my flight with them (accoms separate), they were really good with regards to Covid. All I will say is like most airlines, probs take your own snacks but I've found them fairly comfortable to travel with and decent leg room too (I'm 6'1). Staff are also quite sensitive too if you happen to be a bit anxious about flying.

Enjoy mate, will soon come round Smiley

Looking to go somewhere in May. Spain/Greece probably. Is it best to book now or worth waiting until the new year or late this year maybe?

mate, no idea.

it's still volatile in price and covid status

just booked flights in October on a risk (to go to last year's holiday accommodation).   prices fluctuate daily.

I blinked on the flights. chances are they'll half in price close to the time, but they are affordable now and I'd rather deal in the known than 'probably'

Got back on Saturday from a week long cruise around the Greek Islands & Cyprus. It's a bit of a ballache getting in and out of places with all the COVID stuff but other than that, had a great time. Was nervy as fuck waiting for the test result to get back in order to get on the boat but thankfully all was well. Passenger locator form was a pain on getting back in, we saw a lot of people doing it at the airport and getting flustered so if you do go away, do it in good time. If anyone is going abroad, I'd recommend creating a folder in your phone with all the screenshots / files you need and make sure your phone is fully charged. It was a lot quicker than printing out millions of sheets of paper.

Also would highly recommend our very own Dean McMackin to anyone who wants to go anywhere. Sorted us out a treat when we had absolutely no idea what we wanted to do. Gave us a load of advice which was super useful too.

Going to Blackpool in October as a birthday treat for my nephew and niece. Booking hotels is fun in Blackpool, one of them had 'toilet paper' as a feature!
