Well this has all gone wrong quickly. The actual Pope would probably be more convincing against the spinning ball than Ollie Pope is.

Love the crash bang wallop of the IPL.

A 14 year old has just scored 101 off 38 balls.
Great fun

That’s absolutely insane. He could play for twenty years and still be in his prime. Ridiculous

First test of the summer against Zimbabwe for the first time in 20+ years at Trent Bridge.

Suspect Pope and Crawley will fill their boots here and be guaranteed their spots for the rest of time!

Bingo. I reckon Bethel plays as the spinner in Aus at this rate.

Absolutely brilliant test match unfolding at Headingley. Pure test cricket.

Just seen this on TMS, and I have to agree:

With Stokes' relative malaise with the bat but prowess with the ball (and provided he stays injury-free), is there an argument for Stokes playing purely as a bowler, hence solving the Bethell conundrum?

I don’t think you get enough overs out of him to play him purely as a bowler.

You'd need a fourth seamer if you were to do that, so it doesn't really solve much. Unless you played Bethell as the front line spinner ahead of Bashir, which is what I have a bit of a feeling will happen in Australia.

Bazball at its finest. Try and nullify that lead. India will try and stall/limit overs in hope the rain prevents further indent being made in that current lead. I love the positive approach to finding a result that minimises likelihood of a draw.

To be fair to India, they have more than played their part with the run rate as well.

Back in the day, both teams scoring 450+ would almost certainly result in a draw.

Both sides have ensured there's still a very good chance of a result either way.

This could be the best thing that's happened to England all summer. Bashir is not good enough and this has exposed him big time. Get him dropped, get Dawson in and we have a chance of winning this series and in Aus.

We all know it’s going to be Bethell, don’t we?
