As a jock i find this hilarious well done Northern Ireland and England have been exposed for the shit the shit they really are. We'll see who goes to Germany and who stays in Scotland Yes we will. At the end of the day even if we dont go i'll live happily knowing that every last Scottish player with give every last thing he has for the cause. Anyway i imagine the english will be sitting at home just like they did in 94 safe them embarrassing themselves i guess.

I stuck up for the team when we beat wales on saturday, but that last night was inexcusable. In fact at times it was a bit like watching Swindon .Northern Ireland played with passion and belief, but they are ranked about 140 or so in the world,we should be beating them no trouble. We can and should still qualify, but both games especially, the poland game are going to be hard if play again like we did last night.

Sven deserves a lot of stick, but the players have to take their share aswell. Whatever formation they were playing in the fact is that the NIreland players just wanted to win more than our over payed bunch of twats.

Well according to reports they were the ones who persauded sven to change the formation, which is believeable as sven lips seem to be stuck to beckhams arse. It seems to me as well that the they don't care, they go home to their country mansions and fast cars, the sad truth is its more important for them to do well for their preimership side than for england.

it seems like sven has been to the andy king school of tactical management. 4-5-1 is a bollox formation, end of! england have some of the best players in the world so play them in their proper positions & let them show their potential. why the fuck is beckham playing in the middle!? does he run the team? he stops gerrard & lampard playing their natural game coz he is always in the way. and why rooney on the left!? no wonder he got pissed off.
when cole came on for wright-phillips you would expect to switch to 4-4-2 and play cole left-mid, beckham right-mid, gerrard & lampard in the middle & rooney up front. but instead he kept it the same. just like king bringing on roberts & cureton for shakes & heath the other week & them keeping them wide when we needed a goal. unless you have natural wide-men like chelsea (robben, duff etc) this formation will never work!
i'm glad northern ireland won it - i hope sven gets the boot now. even if we had gone 1-0 up, would we have carried on attacking or just sit back & try to defend the lead, serie a style? thats another thing that gets on my tits about eriksson, why cant he get the team to go out & kill games off 3 or 4-0. english teams (the national side & club sides in europe) are best when they go at teams & attack with pace & directness. foreign teams dont know how to defend against it. surely with players like rooney, gerrard, lampard, owen, wright-phillips etc we could do this. but instead he chooses to play into the hands of other teams by keeping it slow & tight. it sucks.

Agree.Rooney is our best player, maybe our only world class player, everything should be about giving him the ball and letting him run with it,he should be the focus.

Ah well i'd be quite happy seeing the media big up england, the players big up themselves the english fans big wide smile thinking they will live their only time of glory again, only for another englishman to miss a penalty that leaves the rest of the world laughing at england, again.

Our players were weak in the tackle, 2nd to every loose ball and were generally disinterested, thinking they could coast through and still win. Tactically we were a total mess, what was the point in Lampard & Gerrard playing if Beckham is just going to fire 50 yard hollywood balls over their heads? Some of Beckhams passing was superb, but at times it looked like the entire team had been set up to massage his ego and act as a showcase for his talents rather than be effective and actually win the game. The team should be built around Rooney, not Beckham. I felt sorry for Owen as well, he may not have been 100% match fit but the service he recieved was diabolical. I dont think it would have mattered in the slightest if Defoe had played instead of him, Defoe would hardly have touched the ball either.
