The yanks are now pausing intelligence sharing with Ukraine. Hmmm, I wonder why?

The yanks are now pausing intelligence sharing with Ukraine. Hmmm, I wonder why? They'd have to have some first. In reality the actual spooks will probably continue working with their Ukrainian counterparts because they're cleverer than the tangerine the US people voted into power. The rule of law hasn't stopped the CIA before and it definitely won't again.

I agree they were awful to Zelensky, President Trump seems to have definite cognitive issues.

I can’t decide whether Trump is using it as a negotiating tactic to get his own way with mineral rights, or whether it’s because he’s in league with Putin to carve up the Ukraine.
Either way he’s being a bit of a cunt.
In an unrelated story, I see that a major alcohol distributor in Canada has taken all American products off their shelves

The average American knows FA about anything outside of the USA - and not much more about inside the USA. They’re an insular bunch by and large.

I worked in India for 6 weeks some time ago, and a group came over from the Boston office. A couple of them were adventurous but in the main they had little interest in embracing the local culture. The Europeans would use the auto-rickshaws to head into the city, but they would use the hotel car to go anywhere. One of the blokes, in his twenties had to get a passport especially as he'd never left the country before. Their boss was possibly one of the fattest people I've ever seen, and she got the hotel to put a fucking microwave in her room so she could eat processed junk food all the time.

I was in British Columbia, Canada near the US border back in 2004 when the Iraq War was on. I caught a lot of US TV news channels and they barely touched on news from outside North America. Even the war coverage was minimal. When I was in Victoria on Vancouver Island on Victoria Day, there was an American from Seattle or Portland at the next table who was asking an associate "Who is this Victoria?" I was tempted to say she was an era

I was tempted to say she was an era They might have asked 'What kind of mistake?' or these days, possibly 'Gee, is she touring with Taylor Swift?'. But, more likely, the answer would have been 'Huh?'

On another occasion we'd just finished a boat tour of the Bosphorus in Istanbul and 3 Septics very loudly announced how many Starbucks they had seen on the journey. I should have pushed the duffers into the water there and then!

Yesterday’s call between Trump and Putin went very well for the latter, it would seem. I’m sure Putin was very pleased with himself.
Today’s call between Trump and Zelensky may have put paid to that. Putin would have hoped the call would have gone south, like last time. Any win, I think, for Zelensky is a much bigger blow for Putin.
