Clem confirmed as Director of Swinton Reds and Seebeck on 20th November.

Not claiming any ITK nonsense, just an update on Companies House today.

Good spot.

Not the FC though.

I reckon a takeover of the club will be announced very soon, with the departure of LP and new owners coming in.

I believe this to be close to what will happen too.

A good time for a takeover as well. It gives the new guys a transfer window to play with (assuming they have money).

Unless we are up to the limit, of course.

Pure speculation of course but any ideas who new owners would be? Does Clem want to be owner? Does Standing? Does Barry?

If the club is sold this month, what does that mean for the Standing/Barry claim?

questions most of us would like to know. Especially as Power says he's out of cash (interview a couple of weeks ago)

Assuming the sale goes through I would suspect it would cease to be our problem, more an argument between Standing and Power.

Be interesting to see if (when) a takeover goes through, especially if bailout cash from the PL is likely shortly?

As things stand, Power can only sell 85% of the club - unless Clem wants to sell his bit as well. Barry/Standing will want whatever their involvement merits.

Getting an agreement that is agreeable to all parties would seem difficult. Therefore, I’d guess that the most likely outcome would be Power to sell his 85% to one or both of the other parties involved.

... or just sell enough for somebody else to become the controlling shareholder. He strikes me as the type to want to keep his fingers in as many pies as possible.

WHat was the American offer that Power wanted to accepted, was it £7.5m, on that basis he will be looking for £6.4mish for his share, not seen any evidence that Clem has that sort of cash to throw around and whilst Barry/Standing might have they have never seemed that interested bar getting their money back rather than putting more in.

Add to that the current uncertainty in the business (despite what Johnson may or may not be saying) its quite an investment for an asset poor football club not really going anywhere, OK there is the ground but that means adding in another £1m+ for possible development potential, and there is not a huge amount of land with the ground for development.
