Sadly I have to report the passing of Dave Syrett.

Dave had been battling Cancer for a while, he was just 60 years old.

I was his neighbour when I lived in Warminster. Lovely bloke, with a lovely family.

Banged in a few for the Town and was also a bit of a legend at Mansfield.

RIP Dave...

That's very sad news.  i remember seeing him break into the team and score some cracking goals.  The arrival of Peter Eastoe pretty much ended his Swindon career.

Bollocks. Awful news.

Before my time playing wise but stood with him (and probably introduced by you Flash) on the terrace at Yeovil a few years back. Perfect gent. RIP Dave.

Friendly face of a talented forward line, my personal highlight was a "Syrett turn" taking out two or three Sheff Wednesday players and a cool finish after a long, clear run on goal.
