Astonishing revelations this afternoon re Russian athletics.

With the FIFA corruption, cycling and all the sports embracing the term athletics can we believe anything we see.

Got to be a chance the 2018 World Cup could be taken away from Russia, too.

Dick Pound, who led what was a very specific investigation and was a long-standing thorn in cycling's side, described it as the "tip of the iceberg".

"We don't think Russia is the only country with a doping problem and athletics is not the only sport with a doping problem."

I'd say curling is pretty clean, what with all the sweeping...

With all the scandal around the Doctor Eufemiano Fuentes case in Spain and the suspected links to the Spanish national team , Barcelona, Real Madrid and Rafa Nadal I would have to say that this runs very deep and through most sports.

Cycling was just the start.

Any sport with large amounts of money and prestige, I'd be very surprised if it was entirely clean. Something like athletics is an obvious target for doping though as most disciplines require incredibly specialised body shapes and specific muscle groups.

Really? Was anyone at all, anywhere, actually astonished? Apart from possibly Seb Coe, of course.

I'm going to guess darts may be clean. well of non-recreational drugs anyway.

I think the PED of choice for dartists is Beta Blockers- helps steady their aim.

Like Bill Werbeniuk in snooker...

Who apparently once drank 76 cans of lager during a match... Not sure if that was performance enhancing...

Wonder what country will be next? China, America and Jamaica probably top 3 for me. Would be extremely disinterested in athletics if we are found guilty, wouldn't be surprised though

Jamaica's doping control is non-existant.

Why would you be extremely disinterested? Surely you'd like to see an 8 second 100 metre dash, or a boy that can swim faster than a shark? Let them take whatever they want!

If the report is accurate, this goes right up to the top of the Russian government, which is Putin.

Take the 2018 World Cup away, which is tainted anyway after Sepp's comments a few weeks ago, it's a slap in the face for Putin.
