Claiming to be a proper fan and then stating the reason your not going to your teams play off final is because you can have a better time elsewhere with the cash, does make you sound like a total plastic tbh, enjoy your meal.

A proper fan? What's one of them then? people show their support in different ways and with differing degrees of commitment, but it's up to the individual, not some cunt pontificating.

What does supercilious mean?  Why do fans book holidays during the football season?  Roll Eyes

That was supposed to be 'feisty', but I think I prefer fesity so I'll leave it. If it's not a word already, then it should be.

A proper fan in IMO is someone who goes to support their team in a playoff final if they are able to do so, a real cunt is someone who makes excuses for the fact they wont stand up and be counted when the boys need their support.

A proper fan puts a playoff final before a couple of meals out! your kids will remember a playoff final experience, not a shit meal in bella Italia!

I must be a shit fan cos I prefer to take the family away to Wales instead of going to Wembley.

Meh.

Well luckily your opinion is not something anyone gives a shit about. Not everyones priorities list STFC at the top; some people put more importance in other things. I wouldn't say they're not 'proper' fans though. As I said before it's up to the individual.

Its not going to spoil my enjoyment* of the day if only me and my family turn up to watch it. So with that in mind its not going to upset me if someone else doesn't want to go.

Lets be honest, our average gate is 8K, Preston just over 10K. If they bring 6-8K more "fans" than we do, so what..

Personally, I'm not risking missing us winning myself. I did that in 1993 due to cash/university exam issues and will regret it to my dying day.

* this year I have a 'fuck it, lets have a laugh whatever with no expectation of a win' attitude.

Most of the day trippers I know "have done Wembley now, it was expensive and rubbish", so aren't going again.

I'm not going because Wembley is shit and there's no trains. Couldn't give a toss if this makes me a bad fan in other peoples eyes.

Sorry to sound rude as I don't know you but FFS! Games like this are potentially what lifetime memories are made of. Many of us have families. I've got 4 kids myself but I'm breaking the bank so that perhaps one day they can look back on the day they saw the Town do them proud at Wembley. Who is ever gonna look back with such passion at a few trips to bloody Pizza Express! Seriously.
exactly. They should be going to the curry house instead
