typical Adver!!

It's not even the Adver that writes them is it? Did someone say something about an outside company doing the headlines? I don't know about you but that seems really abominably stupid to me.

I don't know about it being a different company, but the person the writes the headlines is not the person that writes the articles.

I never tire of telling people that most of the Adver headlines are written in Oxford.

I doubt that the dear old Adver will be around for much longer....Gannett are flogging off the Victoria Road site, after 150 years, I'm not sure they'll bother with a Swindon site, just ship it out to their site on an industrial estate in Oxford, until the almost inevitable shutdown.

Thorney Island is only 2 miles from me. I guess they are there as it all links in with the Petersfield friendly

Reg, that is a strong possibility, merge it in with the weekly Gazette and Herald.  Whenever we were in S.Devon would always pick up a copy of the daily Herald Express - without warning and overnight it went to a weekly edition!

I fail to see what's bad about the headline "The Town Squad are in the Navy", when it's from a story about the Town squad training with the Navy ?

What should the headline be ?

"Town squad train with Navy, but do not actually join the Navy, just train with them on a temporary, non-committal basis"
