If my memory serves me right that was the first of the foreign beers sold in pubs - cans in The Bell, followed by Holsten and then Fosters. Colt 45 was absolute shite. |

To mention Nile Ranger in the same breath as Parkin, Cox or Austin is an insult to 3 players who all had good "spells" with us.
Only Parkin though holds legendary status for 3 seasons of magic.
If only we had him now in his prime as he would be scoring for fun.
I am lucky and proud to have his signed shirt and a signed bottle of champaign given to my lad "Sam" when he was born.
Had a beer with him one night and what a terrific bloke he was. Sad that injuries plagued his career at Ipswich particularly that he almost went injury free at Swindon.

Like fuck! I genuinely don't see how he's anywhere near those three. And if I had the choice of any of them, or even an on form Mooney I'd pick them all over Ranger footballing wise. Ranger has something. He's a good player when he can be arsed. We don't have anyone as strong or that can play his position up front. But I just don't get the jizzfest over him. Think its going to be very difficult to replace him in the January window though. |

On the pitch he's amazing, that's all I'm bothered about. Personally I think he's better than Austin and Cox, he doesn't get as many goals but he is the complete forward.

This is the point for me though having said that, of course, Parkin, Austin and Cox were more special as strikers. For me, STFCs play as a whole has been significantly more convincing with Ranger starting. Would be interested to know whether or not this observation, already made by many, is borne out by results |
