Agree Reg,was very important to keep him and in a way shows that we are not going to just let every fucker leave. Keeping Wes and Ward were as important as keeping any of the others in my opinion.

Whatever the ins and outs its important now that we get rid of Caddis and Benson,it's clear we need them gone to bring in who we want so i just hope we can sort out a package and let them go as we need two or three more to let us have a comfortable season in my opinion

Benson to Luton looks to have legs, but will probably only be worth half a player to us...I still wouldn't be surprised to see Caddis leave for free to Brum...rather than us getting the hoped for fee.

Let Caddis go on a free. Mutual contract termination would benefit everyone. Yes we would lose a fee but if there is no interest lets get him off the wage book.

The same for benson.

Benson will want a decent sum though no doubt

Yes he would be off the wage bill but paying him off you will have to pay the rest of his contract up, so thats about £250k and that still comes out of the playing budget for this season so you gain nothing at all, and Caddis has already said he won't play for us again apparently, and he has turned down a smaller contract with Blackpool, what would anyone gain from this?

But paying them both off will save us money long term?

Well if it's only worth a quarter of a player, it's still better than nothing....if there's no advantage to us then  there'll be no point in doing it.

I like paying taxes, as long as the money collected is put to use for the greater good...there lies the problem achieving a consensus on what is the greater good, which isn't the same for all.

Agreed, I plan to move to Sweden in the next year or so, high taxes but you can actually see the evidence of it so I don't mind so much.

Not being pedantic but geuinely how do you come to that conclusion? as paying them off will keep the wage budget the same as it is now, if they signed for someone on loan or full time then they would cover all or part of their wages for the loan term freeing up wage budget for new players.

I think Jed said last night on Twitter that Luton weren't going to get Benson for what they are currently offering.

Surely a league 2 side will want to pick up Benson before the window closes?

If there is no interest in either player then it should be considered in my opinion.

It's just a thought anyway, as we don't know if there has been any interest. I just hate paying people for sitting on their arses doing nothing.

If taking a pay cut is such an admirable quality, how do we all feel about living it Switzerland to dodge paying taxes? Most of us earn next to nothing and we all have to pay our dues. I think Power should be answerable to us all or are we just mugs being taken for a ride? Don't get me wrong we've had some horrible people in charge of our club in the past but the stench of fiddlers coming from this board is becoming intollerable...

Absolutely its not a good situation to be in by any means, if a player is unwilling to play for the team as has been suggested then he should be denied his wages as he is not fulfilling his part of the contract.

We'd be paying the same amount whether they sat on our books or we paid up their contracts. So long as they're contracted to us, there's a possibility that we can either receive a transfer fee or sort out a loan deal which reduces the wages we pay to them over time.

If we paid them off we wouldn't be able to afford a replacement for either.
