Why Ward chose a pay cut to stay at Town

IN TAKING a pay cut to extend his contract at Swindon Town, Darren Ward has shown a rare quality in modern football.

If taking a pay cut is such an admirable quality, how do we all feel about living it Switzerland to dodge paying taxes? Most of us earn next to nothing and we all have to pay our dues. I think Power should be answerable to us all or are we just mugs being taken for a ride? Don't get me wrong we've had some horrible people in charge of our club in the past but the stench of fiddlers coming from this board is becoming intollerable...

Move to Switzerland if it bothers you that much.

Who wants to pay taxes?  I legally avoid it as much as possible.

We still think they are crooks in it for their own gain at the club's expense? Have we seen a shred of evidence to support the fact they are anything worse than inexperienced, buffoonish and mildly incompetent?

So the board are handy with the violin? Might be useful for future concerts!

My boss is moving to Switzerland. I think tax is about 10-12%, but the cost of living is very high so it evens itself out a little bit.

Fair play to Ward, I like the idea of identifying talent and developing it for a management role...hopefully it won't come too soon, so will give him time to extend his playing career and mean Cooper is getting a few result satisfactory results.

Oh and fair play to McCrory and Power for doing it.

I like paying taxes, as long as the money collected is put to use for the greater good...there lies the problem achieving a consensus on what is the greater good, which isn't the same for all.

Agree Reg,was very important to keep him and in a way shows that we are not going to just let every fucker leave. Keeping Wes and Ward were as important as keeping any of the others in my opinion.

Whatever the ins and outs its important now that we get rid of Caddis and Benson,it's clear we need them gone to bring in who we want so i just hope we can sort out a package and let them go as we need two or three more to let us have a comfortable season in my opinion

Can't disagree with any of that DRS. We are where we are regarding Caddis and Benno. Got to move on for the greater good.
