SWINDON TOWN: McCrory will 'take time' to find right manager

SWINDON Town return to training at Liddington this morning without a new manager, but chairman Jed McCrory remains determined not to rush into a kneejerk appointment.

I wouldn't have a problem with that - It would mean that he was doing a good job.

I also wouldn't have a problem if we were waiting until the preferred candidate was more easily releasable from his current post/contract. For example, if waiting a few weeks saves the club £100,000s then why not?

Ideally though, it would be nice to have a good candidate (that wasn't going to financially cripple the club) in place now.

We need a manager in place. No-one ever won anything without a manager.

If our plan for this season is to survive, rather than compete, then tell us now Jed. Then I can stay at home, and save my cash.

He's never going to say that is he?

With respect, it's obvious that we're in survival mode....and nothing particularly wrong with that..it's our challenge for the season to try and remain a Div 3 team.

If you feel that way then just stay home and save your cash anyway, may well be a lot of fans like that this season. I though am actually a little optimistic as long as we get the right man in as manager.

I'm actually optimistic too. Communications aside and yes, things could be better. It looks to me like things are moving in the right direction on several fronts, from a business perspective. A lot has been achieved in a short space of time and although we made the PO's last year, there are few players that I'd have been gutted to see go and if they are too expensive, then why not replace them. If we have to do it with loans, so what? Save some money and bring our own in after having had time to evaluate properly. The lack of communication or a lack of big transfer / manager news does not equal a lack of progress, in fact it is probably the opposite. I'll happily wait for the new manager.

Jed is hardly likley to say when questioned by the Advertiser ' Nah bollocks to it we are desparate to appoint, in fact we will appoint anyone who wants the job.'

Something of a non story once again.

Seems to me that they want Cooper to oversee the first couple of games and if we aint hammered out of sight they will appoint him.

Shit way of deciding on a manager
