England retain the Ashes and Rolf Harris has been arrested. It is not a good day to be Australian.

Tory peers usually spout utter bollocks, so it's unusual for one to get something right. Been a funny old series so far...think in every match England have been about 30-3 at some point in either or both innings. Siddle and Harris have got better hauls or averages than England's seamers, Clarke is second leading run scorer, when he's only seemed to play one innings. Big difference has been Graham Swann and Ian Bell with Jimmy and KP chipping in. Ooh and mustn't forget young Root...

Good to retain The Ashes so early on, it will be great to go on and win the series next week at Durham. I don't think England have played the best cricket they can do, but they've been better than Australia. 3 matches into what is effectively a 10 match test series and the Aussies have shown in this test match what they can do. Hope it's just a one off!

Bizarre story about Monty Panesar in the Evening Standard. Completely humiliates himself just as he's about to be called back in to the side. What a tool. Cricket star Monty Panesar today “apologised unreservedly” for urinating on bouncers who kicked him out of a club.
After he was thrown out for allegedly pestering a group of women, the England bowler went up to the prom above the beachfront nightspot and relieved himself on the doormen below.
They gave chase and cornered the Ashes star in a pizza restaurant, before putting him in an arm-lock and dragging him back to the club in tears.
Panesar was kept in a holding room for 45 minutes - with the bouncers apparently taking pictures of him - until police arrived and fined him £90.
He is believed to have been at a vodka bar earlier in the evening.
Panesar, 31, who had just been named in the 14-man England squad for the next Ashes Test match, had been in Brighton’s trendy Shooshh nightclub which was hosting a Gay Pride event.
A group of girls complained that he was hassling them, so he was asked to leave.
A source close to the star told the Standard Panesar had not intended to urinate on the bouncers, saying: “It was completely out of character - he didn’t mean to wee on them, it was just high-jinx.”
His spokeswoman said Panesar did not dispute what had happened and said he wanted to express his “unreserved apologies to anyone he has offended”.
She added: “His club Sussex have launched an official inquiry in accordance with their official procedures so until that is complete we can say nothing further.”
A spokesman for Sussex police said: “A 31-year-old man received a fixed penalty notice for being drunk and disorderly after being seen urinating in public near the Shooshh Club at around 4.13am on Monday.

4th test in Durham starts today with Onions likely to replace Anderson (rested) on his home ground. Glad for him, he's been the best bowler in the CC for two seasons and come back from a horrendous injury that would have finished a lot of careers.
Jackson Bird believed to be starting for the Aussies, not sure who for but I guess Harris, no way he plays three back to back tests without legs falling off. Bird is a good bowler but would be glad to see the back of Harris.

Looks like it is Bird for Starc. Michael Vaughan has just tweeted it looks like no Anderson? Mental! Dry pitch with some plates already moving.
