Let Rooty get 200 and declare.
Would be surprised if we need more than 3 sessions to bowl these chumps out.

The Aussies are never going to score over 500 in a day

First target for the Aussie "Vincibles" is 174 - or the 65 year record winning margin (in runs) for any Lords Test - will fall.

136-6 at tea. You know it's your day when you choke the Aussie captain down the leg side with a leg slip.

Last wicket harsh...no hot spot. Not that it will make any difference though to the final result.

I'm in favour of DRS (not that one) but Jesus they're implementing it badly. How hard is it to say stick with the on field call unless you're 100% stonewall sure.
By the way, Oz are cack and it's beautiful.

The problem is not with DRS, but with the umpires using it.
It also doesn't help that their are only 4 non-English/Aussie umpires on the elite panel currently. In fact there is talk that Billy Bowden will be put back on it before the Ashes series in Oz.

All done in four days for 347 runs.
Arf.
Also, I have two spare tickets for the first day's play in Manchester (Thursday 31st) that I no longer need. Anyone on here fancy them?

Another fantastic win for England! It's great seeing the Aussies get fucking smashed, a 5-0 whitewash is on the cards! Joe Root well deserved MoM IMO, under a little bit of pressure going into the 2nd innings and he comes up with 180...he's young, but a class act and a much better bet than Compton. KP injured, but I think he'll be fine for OT. If he's not I think it will be James Taylor although I'd like Varun Chopra to be given a chance at somepoint. He's scored a lot of runs the past few seasons for Warwickshire and wouldn't be a bad shout either.
Can't wait to go to Old Trafford, hope the weather stays fine and there is a lot more Aussie bashing coming this series!

I posted that straight after Agar's wicket before the game had finished, given out by 3rd umpire but no hot spot.

Off to Manchester Wednesday night, have tickets for Days 1, 3 and 4 so if we could retain the Ashes late on Day 4 that would be fucking smashing.
Taylor likely to come in for KP if he's injured, few other changes to the squad but don't expect any other changes. Talk of two spinners is fanciful, although Australia appear to be genuinely considering it- considering they don't have one good spinner, that seems silly. Although both Agar and Lyon are probably better batsmen than their top 6, so perhaps that's the logic, fill up on tail enders and then score 400.

What does the weather forecast looks like... we've not had a rain for 2 Tests and there seems plenty around atm, just in time for Old Trafford. Still a rain affected draw, would be enough to retain the Ashes. Not really sure why Lyon hasn't played, he has looked by far and away the best of the bunch that the Convicts have tried in recent years...and at a decent age, whereby he should improve
