Flintoff on BBC Radio 5 the other night was saying that England always underperform on the opening day when expectations are high. He's not wrong.

There is a trend appearing of England underperforming in opening tests of recent series

All out for 215. Abysmal.
Australia in reply? 25-3. Equally abysmal.
Funny old game.

Was a pity Broad couldnt bowl after that blow. Have a feeling we could have taken a couple more wickets had the bowlers been able to rotate
Be interesting to see how they perform in the morning. Quick wicket or two and the aussies may fold
Either way was an interesting days cricket and dont think will be an indicator of the series ahead

I think we're going to brush them aside with ease this series. We have a much better bowling attack. We gave away half of our wickets today and the weather didnt go according to plan. Think we will skittle them for less than 200 if we get a few early doors tomorrow.

Don't think we'll hammer them - still too many questions over the top order recently getting themselves in then getting out. 3rd time in the last 18 months the top 6 have all reached double figures without one of them passing 50.
As good as our attack is, you can't rely on the bowlers to bail you out defending scores of 200-300 all the time.

Three wickets already this morning- for anyone else outside the uk there's a perfectly legal stream on YouTube for most countries- ECBCricket. Loving watching this from a balcony in Malta!

I pity anyone with tickets for the weekend. This test is going to be over in 3 days.

Well, we had a good half an hour... (and Agar was definitely stumped from what I could tell?)
