We are saving 3k a week now ferry is gone and he is club captain so worth offering him a decent contract i'd have thought?

The playing budget has reportedly been slashed from around 4 - 4.5 million per year, to 2 - 2.5 million per year.

Ferry's £2.8k per week (£145k per year) is but a drop in the ocean of the money they need to save overall. I think we should expect a "core" squad of reasonable players with plenty of youths coming up the ranks to pad things out!

I can't see McCormack being on more than Ferry. So we should try and keep him, otherwise the only CM's we're left with are Navarro and Louis Thompson...

The McCormack situation feels a bit like the Douglas one in 2010.  Player states publicly that he wants to stay, but is offered a lower wage so goes elsewhere.

Has Louis Thompson already signed a new contract, because I thought his also ran out, but there's been no mention of him?

and Lee Cox

Injured again I believe?

Thompson has been offered a one year deal.

Cox had an operation a few weeks ago, unless he decides to try his hand at basejumping during the summer I'd hope he's fit for pre-season

Didnt that article say his wages would be increased to 140k a year if we extended it?

Ah thanks.

Cox does seem a bit injury prone.  We seem to have a few of them on our books at present, which isn't going to help the financial situation.

Douglas said on twitter last month that he wasn't actually offered a new contract from us, he didn't want to give us a bad word at the time.

PdC saw TAH as a possible midfielder. Not sure what is happening with TAH, but I take silence as bad news in these sort of things. Shame, because when you're operating on a relative shoestring...you don't want depreciating assets.
