I'm old skool. I'd prefer the offside rule to either be abolished or enforced for anyone offside - none of this interfering, active etc. Make it simple.
Yup, I'm with Paisley (or was it Shankley) - if you're not interfering with play, you shouldn't be on the pitch.

Exactly! Not getting back onside is gaining an advantage, even if later in the phase of play. It's precisely why players are not allowed to leave the field of play without the ref's permission.

But then countless goals from corners would be disallowed, assuming no defender on the posts. Cross comes in, flick on, poked home at the far post, but the corner taker is offside.
Similarly, what if a player A runs to the by-line and cuts the ball back to player B. Player B lays it on (forwards) to player C who scores. Player A remains in an offisde position but is 20-30 yards away from the action. Should that goal be disallowed?
That's the whole point of the 'interfering' interpretation.

Is it still a jinx or an urban myth?

Which is why just getting rid of the rule is an option

Its probably a controversial view but seeing the pictures of Spurs new ground, its an impressive looking thing! Plus I had to smile when I read that the single tier stand behind one of the goals is bigger than Bournemouth's entire ground! But WTF are the beer taps all about! https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/47687411

And the beer thing means they serve more people quicker and with less waste. They're a great idea.

I’ve seen those beer things in South Korea, they are pretty cool!

Looks impressive. The Mercedez Benz Stadium in Atlanta has a couple of bars you can sit at with sight lines to the pitch. Clearly anything STFC do will be tiny in comparison but it does give a glimpse of why redevelopment is key - oh, and having the rights to the food and drink money would probably be useful as well!

Has the new spurs ground got safe standing? Looks like it.

I think you're all missing the point here - what about the cheese room?

I think they ditched the cheese room didnt they? And on the safe standing I read this morning that there is a section that is safe standing ready. I guess that means an area they can take the seats out of easily.
