What a strange thing to say on a STFC football forum .

Why? It's not a healthy mindset is it? There are a lot of things which are far more important than football, and if you artificially inflate the importance of a football club then you're not going to be able to look at these things with any objectivity.

No worries, no trouble admitting you're one of the more challenged out there. We can all move on now.

Not really? Just the sort of thing that might be said by someone with a sense of proportion and a reasonable set of priorities.

For me, and Ben I guess, appointing a fascist was enough to make us say "fuck it there are more important things than STFC". I'd hope there are things you feel strongly enough about to make you do the same.

Maybe Town bought out by the Bin Laden family and turned into the first Islamist football league club? Alcohol banned, hijabs required for all female members of staff, that kind of thing. Still be a supporter then?

....or alternatively this far more succinct and timely response.....

History........WE WERE TOP OF THE LEAGUE WHEN HE LEFT.....I CARE TO REMEMBER THE CUP RUNS AND BRILLIANT PERFORMANCES THAT GOT US TOP.

And all you can do is bring up two matches we lost....explains a lot.

I just bought up 2 similar games under PdC as a comparison.

And yes we were 6th when we left...and he's not coming back.

It was great while it lasted, but we move on.

Tales of PDC, with a bit of poetic licence, from Harry Redknapp. Quite amusing but unlikely to move people between the yes and no camps .....

Well, there we have it. I watched the interview myself and soon as I saw the news of it coming on, I feared it would be the end of the petition haha!

Thank you to all those that signed it and to all those that bitched about it, don't hate me for it! Tongue

I'm proud of myself in terms that I achieved over 250 signatures.. But the time has come where I accept Di Canio is not returning and listening to both sides of the story, I blame:

Andrew Black for choosing and planning to sell the club in the middle of the season (what was the fool thinking?!)

Sir William Patey for have no communication skills and having no care for the club

The new board for not picking up the phone and attempting to persuade PDC to sit tight

And finally, I blame Di Canio for not being understanding in the situation and instead becoming frustrated and making rash decisions.

Overall, who is the winners? No-one and that is the saddest point of all. It's left a bitter taste in everyones mouths, whichever view point you hold.

To sum it all up - Gutted.

Apart from the notorious black sheep of the family, the Bin Laden's are a successful business family with interests in construction and other businesses across Saudi and the Middle East. They've got deep pockets and since they built the worlds tallest tower, the could almost definitely do the redevelopment of the County Ground. I would be delighted if they bought the club.
