Na, Diamond White was for anyone up for a spot of power-drinking. We used to go to Ciaro's and drink only Diamond White on Thursdays at £1 a bottle. Smashed doesn't do justice to the state we used to get in and not a drop of beer was touched.
Ahh yeah, them were the days. At some point they also branched out into Diamond Blush and Diamond Zest, which were obviously much more ladylike...
Also used to neck a couple of evil blue cocktails in Pinkertons before going into Cairo's on a Thursday (can't remember if these were called Blue Lagoons or UFOs or something else entirely, I remember the Brunel used to do Blue Lagoons so I might be getting mixed up here). If we got served (which we did 99% of the time) we knew it was going to be a good night. Happy mid-90s days!
