PDC exit would be 'worst thing in the world'

WINGER Gary Roberts insisted it would be the ‘worst thing in the world’ if manager Paolo Di Canio was to walk away from Swindon Town.

Yep, worse than a thousand Hiroshimas  Yes

Know what you mean though Gary - in the context of STFC, it would be.

I definitely thought the holocaust was up there, 9/11 was also pretty bad.

No, being denied entry into the First Division after the play-off final win against Sunderland was worse.

And, god hope it doesn't happen, going out of business altogether would be much worse.

Yeah all joking aside, even in the context of STFC it isn't the worst thing that could happen or even has happened.

This is very true. Still would be pretty shit though.  Wink

The thing is, IF Paolo was to leave now, there would be a sense of unfulfilled potential.

It would have been like Macari leaving halfway through his first season in Division 3, who knows what would have happened, but I doubt if we would have had the 10 year rollercoaster of promotions & relegations we had after.   I also doubt whether we would have got Ardilles or Hoddle as managers.

I still think he has unfinished business here that he'd regret not completing if he left.

To have the plug pulled within a gnats dick of a possible chance to get in the Championship. For a player that must feel disastrous. But the good ones can leave and try elsewhere. Which is why Roberts perspective is somewhat different to ours .

Must admit that when I saw the statement, I felt very similar to what I did when both Macari and Hoddle left - Am impending sense of doom and anger at the lack of fairness in the world and that good things were coming to an end far too early.
